Question with 1 note

Anonymous asked: Hey man, for Doctor J, we miss your kick-ass mixes on the Sub FM Archives. We can't tune in to your show so the archives make our day. Please update! We haven't seen a new one since June...

Thanks fam! Yeah we kinda fell off on doing the archives for a minute or two, but are back in business now :) Last week’s show coming up!

Doctor J “The Internet”

This is my definitive commentary on the internet, haha. Done a while back, it’s just some good old wobblin’ sine bass and Casio VL-Tone beats and a little bit of help from the People’s Champ…

(download)

Oh and while we’re reviving older tunes, the George Benson remix is up for download on Soundcloud now too, just in time for summer…

On this Very Special Episode: we look at the hot topic of Timbaland’s influence on dubstep thru beats reaching back to the mid nineties, pay tribute to the legendary 2 Live Crew and the early sounds of Miami bass, and finish off by celebrating the Blackhawks winning the Stanley Cup with a set of Chicago-style juke!

Wednesday Night! The Album
This nine track release seems like a good place from which to start off the new official Funky Fella Crew site, freshly minted domain and all :)
and here’s the promo blahblah:
For its seventh release, FFC presents a full length LP from Doctor J!“Wednesday Night! The Album” is a tribute to Doctor J’s weekly radio show on SUB.FM.
It is a Texas sized slab of bass heavy crunkdub, in the minimal-yet-solid Dirty South style that has become a trademark of the Funky Fella sound. This album is dedicated to the listeners of the show, all of FFC’s awesome friends and fans, and everyone everywhere who enjoys speaker-thumping dubstep in all its forms. Thanks fam!
Anyways, hope you dig the album and the new blog. We will be putting up mixes and free tunes and all that kinda good stuff as we go along, so feel free to follow and check it out…
